General Meeting Minutes
July 29th, 2006

Called to order at 2:00pm by Larry Dalton

Attendance: 19

• Reminder not to talk to anyone at callouts. We may have information that the authorities do not want published. If asked any questions at or after a callout, refer them to the sheriff's office.
• Shirts have been ordered. They are not in yet.
• Dan discussed the callout. It was a positive turnout. Fast response. Professional conduct. He expressed concern about the team chasing bad guys. Stated that we need to establish a game plan. Squad leaders should be the ones to talk to sheriff and then go back and report to team.
• Team leaders should have a communication kit and a first aid kit. This will eliminate everyone carrying extra baggage.
• Brian Boers said that his company is willing to make a donation of equipment to the group. We need a list of needed equipment so that we can solicit gifts.
• If a team member needs a letter to employer stating their participation in the team, they can contact Dorene who will write the letter.
• Discussion on uniforms. All team members may wear their shirt. Only certified members will receive patches. (motion to accept by Dorene Stalter, 2nd by Susan Wright)
• We will need to determine where to put patches so that all patches are placed the same on all uniforms. Nancy Williams and Julie Strader will sew patches for those who need them.
• Bryan Williams presented with the "Don't Try This At Home" award.

Officer/Committee Reports

Training Committee Report
Read by Roger Ault. We are looking for a dispatcher for the team. Dale Smith indicated interest. Possible mock callout in October. Training committee will work on this. FEMA classes available. Please check with Dorene when you have time to take one. Susan is working on the BCMSAR Evaluation sheet.

Commander's Report
Uniform update.
If anyone has any ideas, you may call Larry or any board member.

Secretary/ Treasurer Report
Patches have been ordered. Should be here within a week.
We will be taking photos of members for ID cards. See Larry.
We have $630 in our checking account. (Motion to accept Roger Ault/Brian Boers 2nd)

Fair Committee Report

• Need volunteers for booth. Please check the signup sheet and choose one or more times that you can man the booth.
• Uniforms will be worn. Please wear dark brown slacks/jeans.
• Is it OK to have a raffle?   Motion to accept Dorene Stalter/ Roger Ault 2nd
• Is it OK to have the booth?   Motion to accept Roger Ault / Linda Strader 2nd
• Dorene presented a sample brochure.  Motion to accept Brian Boers/Adam Strader 2nd
• OK to place a donation box  and show DVD at the booth?  Motion to accept Dorene Stalter/Shari Langin 2nd
• Perhaps next year we should sell "I support the BCMSAR" T-shirts.
• Who will participate in the "Ride to the Fair"?

New Business

• Next meeting at Strader's- Aug 12th. Meeting starts at 1pm. This is a certification meeting. Attendance is not required unless you want to certify a horse. (All are welcome).
• We need to prepare for Homestead Festival. Linda is in charge of the parade. See Linda to join the group riding in the parade. (Interested parties - Shari, Larry Dalton, Janet Smith, Brian Boers, Nancy Williams, Roger Ault). Linda will set up some practice sessions.

Meeting was adjourned at 3pm. Brian Boers motioned / Shari Langin 2nd.
