Meeting Minutes February 18, 2008 (minutes by Pat Theodore)
On February 18, the annual meeting and Christmas party was held at THE FEED STORE in Malden.
President Larry Dalton called the meeting to order at 7:15
Rev. McKee gave the blessing – The Feed Store did a wonderful job feeding us. Meal was excellent.
Sheriff John Thompson thanked everyone for all of our time and effort in this voluntary organization. Deputy Dan gave us thanks and praise also.
Old Business:
Elections were held. Larry Dalton, President for 2008 and Dorene Stalter Secretary/Treasurer for 2008. Susan Wright, Pat Theodore and Nancy Williams agreed to assist when needed.
Dorene Stalter stated our Handbook is just about complete and will be available online or you may purchase.
Dorene Stalter has completed and submitted two grant applications for equipment such as GPS, Pagers, etc.
President Larry stated we may need to conduct some fundraisers, one of which is being considered by Deputy Dan is Princeton Rifles. More info later.
Search Managers Class will be held February 23 & 24 in Geneseo.
A discussion was held to hold some meetings during the week and during the evenings as some new members would like to attend prior to submitting their applications to John. It was decided to hold the first regular meeting on Saturday March 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bureau County Courthouse. Information gained from the Search Manager’s Class can be shared then. A monthly Thursday evening meeting was discussed . Motion made, seconded and passed. Letter to follow.
We received a $25.00 donation from Jack Scott.
A motion was presented to reimburse Nancy Williams $33.56 for her expenses incurred for this meeting - seconded and passed.
Larry Dalton stated Henry County is holding SAR Certifications classes March 27-30 in Cambridge. Call Sheriff Gib. Cady (309) 937-3901 to register.
May 3rd and 4th, we will hold SAR Certification classes – Classroom on Saturday and horses on Sunday.
New Business:
Larry Allen announced an Endurance Race will be held May 31st and June 1st. Good way for you to get to know your horse. Contact Larry for more info.
Nancy Williams and Deputy Dan secured many prizes which Rev. McKee assisted in drawing names – everyone received a prize plus we had some leftover which we will keep for the Fair. Good job Nancy and Deputy Dan!
