Bureau County Mounted Search and Rescue

BCMSAR is looking for new members. You don't need any previous relevant experience to join. We will teach you everything you need to know. We need ground searchers as well as mounted searchers. Training is provided by local experts and by attending regional SAR training events.

Mounted searchers must provide their own horse, tack and other gear. They must also be able to transport their horse using their own vehicles. Ground searcher must be physically capable of searching on foot and must provide their own gear.

All searchers must undergo training prior to participating in an actual search. All persons applying for membership are subject to a criminal background check by the Bureau County Sheriff's Office prior to be accepted.

All horses must be able to remain calm and controllable in all situations, and will be subject to an evaluation process prior to participating in an actual search.

We invite any interested persons to attend one of our meetings that are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Princeton Moose Lodge - 7:00 p.m.

If you are ready to join us now, you can print a PDF copy of the application and bring it to the next meeting.
