Our goal is to support the Bureau County Sheriff Department by providing resources not generally available. Members on horseback can be used for search and rescue, crowd control, disaster support, and many other situations.  [ Read our Mission Statement. ]

Are you interested in joining the Bureau County Mounted Search and Rescue Team?  You don’t need any previous relevant experience to join. We will teach you everything you need to know. We need "ground pounders" as well as mounted searchers.

Training is provided by local experts and by attending regional SAR training conferences.
